Focused topics
Topics covered will include:
- Overview of International Timber market regulations, such as the US Lacey or EUTR Act.
- Supply Chain information: What do international buyers need?
- Assessing risks of illegality in Peru.
- How to mitigate risks: What can you do and what tools are available to help you?
The seminar draws from the LegalSource due diligence system and approach of NEPCon, recognized by the European Union as a Monitoring Organisation within the EU. which defines requirements for any company that wishes to control its production or sourcing to avoid illegal wood products.
The LegalSource standard and due diligence tools are intended to meet international timber legality requirements such as the regulations adopted in EU, USA and Australia. They are applicable worldwide and used by both forest management organisations and entities within the supply chain who want to satisfy the needs of buyers who need assurance of the legality of the wood products.
Who should attend?
The seminar is relevant for anyone who wishes to have a comprehensive understanding of the demands of international markets which are regulated in relation to the legal harvesting and trade of forest-products, such as the U.S.A, Europe, Australia, as well as Japan and South Korea. The seminar helps to provide a roadmap as to how to ensure you can meet these demands.
Attendees to our seminars typically include forest management companies, as well as supply-chain companies trading and exporting wood or paper products, procurement agencies, consultants and NGOs working with forestry issues.
This seminar will be held in Spanish.
