Working with the NEPCon’s Sustainable Tourism initiatives and certification services allows me to have a clear framework, and furthermore, it presents me a great opportunity to raise awareness and drive change across the industry while it also educates people on concerning issues such as climate change, environment and cultural heritage site conservation, helps to increase respect for local human differences and traditions and, when managed well, improves economic conditions of all of its participants. The travel industry can be a powerful ally to fight discrimination, empower communities, women, youth and the minorities.
It is an industry capable of creating lots of opportunities to alleviate poverty and therefore, it can be a driver of positive change and an instrument for peace.
