Luz Aida is responsible for the management of NEPCon’s South America certification processes in Sustainable Tourism.
Luz Aida acts as a lead auditor on selected assessments and audits, and follows up on administrative activities with consultants and clients. She is responsible of ensuring efficiency, quality control and adherence to NEPCon’s technical and administrative certification protocols.
She also contributes to developing strategies for client recruitment for market segments and key tourism destinations in South America, and supports the development and launch of new products and services. In her role, she ensures clients and consultants understand and follow the sustainable tourism certification protocols, and coordinates tourism certification training events across South America.
Luz Aida previously worked as Sustainable Tourism Coordinator in Rainforest Alliance – in a sustainable landscape programme carried out in Peru and Ecuador. She brings to NEPCon her experience in sustainable development, obtained in international non-profit organisations and through practical implementation in the tourism sector, after intensive field work in the Amazon Andean region and in the Caribbean countries.
After her engineering studies in a local university, Luz Aida completed post graduate studies in Local and Regional Development, Environmental Technology and Engineering, and International Certification Standards, and received specific training in the tourism standards of Rainforest Alliance Certified that supports her role as a Tourism Auditor.
Luz Aida joined NEPCon in 2018.
