The entire duration of the training is 7-days and consists of a 4-day preparatory classroom training and 1 day of on-site audit and 2 days Training for the Chain of Custody Management System.
Who should attend?
This training program is designed for professionals with the following context:
▪ Professionals having technical education in fields related to agriculture, livestock production, biological sciences, forestry, engineering or social sciences relating to the principles of sustainable agriculture, the systems of the chain of custody, or processing or production systems, traceability, quality control and certification.
▪ Accredited auditors in other certification systems of environmental and social standards of full ISEAL member organizations.
▪ At least two years of work experience in the field of sustainable agriculture or the chain of custody; an audit experience will be an advantage.
Female participation is encouraged.
Desirable skills
In addition to the above, the following skills are desirable:
▪ Fluent in English
▪ Knowledge and skill in the use of computer programs (eg MS Word and Excel or other spreadsheet).
▪ Personal characteristics to develop the attitudes and skills necessary for the work of an RA SAS auditor.

The course will run for 7 days in English language and will consist of:
▪ NEPCon Auditing Principles
▪ RA Sustainable Agriculture Standard 2017
▪ Certification and transition Rules for Farms and Group Administrators
▪ RA SAS Chain of Custody Standard
▪ RA SAS Chain of Custody Policy
▪ RA SAS Audit Processes and Certification
▪ Guidance Documents
▪ Ethical and Professional Conduct of RA SAS Auditor
▪ Conditions for Development and Competence of RA SAS Auditors
▪ Practical Case Study and Examination
Participants will be evaluated throughout the training event and final exams; 2 hours for the RA SAS 2017 certification system and 2 hours for the CoC course.
Outcome of the course
At the end of the course participants will:
▪ Acquire the overall understanding of RA SAS certification system
▪ Develop the ability to understand and interpret the RA SAS Standards and traceability policy and to implement and evaluate in particular situations,
▪ Acquire advanced auditing skills to participate in the RA SAS audits of farms, group and CoC,
▪ Obtain international recognition as a Rainforest Alliance qualified auditor for farms, groups and CoC.
▪ All successful participants will receive a certificate.
This course is conducted in English. Please ensure that your language skills will allow you to fully engage in presentations, group exercises, discussions and examinations.

The cost of training is 550 USD for training on both RA SAS Farm /Group and CoC. Cost of transport and accommodation would be borne by candidates.
